2 and 5 are really good - number 2 especially.

Love the lighting and pose.

No. 5 is spot on IMO - love it, and No. 2

No. 1 comes seriously close, I love the colours and comp, but for me the background is a bit too busy - the '7' draws my eye away from the subject, and once it's moved away I see other things like the plant. Could have done with either a shallower dof or moving the plant?

Thanks.

I can honestly say I never noticed that '7', now I can't take my eyes off of it. It's weird how sometimes you fail to see really obvious things in your own photos. Will have to clone that out at some point I think.

Bullet point crit from me as again I'm not really qualified on portraits.

  1. 1 Noticed the 7 straight away, not too distracting though as it helped quell my thoughts that black door might be the PM's place in Downing St. Not sure I like the colour on a personal level, have you faffed with this in mono?
  1. 2 Great setting and comp let down by model's expression
  1. 3 Can't shake from my mind that this could be the New Forest yet with the choice of outfit, if you pushed the colour temp, contrast and added more haze in the sky this would look positively foreign. Expression suits the mood but with her right elbow like that she doesn't look too comfortable.
  1. 4 Are Chim bootlids made of usual TVR materials?
  1. 5 Great. Could also work if she was on the other side of the frame but this way round adds to the intrigue of what she's looking at.

Now that's out the way, have an RS3

(Strange, it's added actual bullet points. And a line across the page.

Not enough bridges and not enough silver 911s in Wales smile

Ah, so you've seen some of Steve's :cough: work :cough: too, eh! How much counselling did you need to get over the scene with the Highland Cattle?!?

BTW - agree with Davi on the portraits, 2 and 5 nail it beautifully. Hopefully I'll post up some holiday snaps soon, or maybe something from the weekends SSC...if I ever get time to do some processing!

Same, nice pics, better than my attempts so far. Can I ask where they were taken?
On my drive-way in the wilds of Sutherland.

I just did a trace on an anonymous guestbook message I received, and after a LOT of digital investigation found out it was a PH that sent it (I won't embarrass the sender - You know who you are) ... it reads:

"perhaps it is time to give visitors a hint of what you do for a living. music and landscape photography as a rule don't sustain fast cars. vagueness of site owner's image brings a disturbing touch to this site"

In answer to the secret sender: I write music and take photos, and people pay me for my work. This pays for the fast cars and keeps them on the road.

Hope that helps.

Next time, just post in here and don't hide, we'll all help you understand.

As you were folks.
People have been making fortunes from music for many years - this is odd logic! scratchchin
