GoPro suction cupped to my helmet and a commute to work… with some swing music. I do let the video drop to real time so you can hear the bike farting/popping/banging in places. Edited (in the same way that you 'edit' potatoes when you're making mash) with iMovie 11.

Click on the ad if you'd like me to have a little less debt wink

ETA: GoPro suction cups are brilliant. Someone I know very, very well has proved they'll hold on to a motorbike helmet at 130mph+. Just make sure the helmet's clean and stick it on a flattish bit on the side.

Got my camera yesterday and have been playing around with it. I'm uploading a not-very-interesting video to YouTube now just to see how it handles 1080p. I've played around with the 120fps video too and that was quite impressive.

I should have a good play this weekend.

One thing I didn't realise (pay attention to) was that the Skeleton backdoor that comes with it is different to the skeleton housing. I'd like to use an external microphone (recommendations please) but can't unless I buy the mic (£20?) AND the skeleton housing (£35)

That explains a lot! I couldn't see how a mic could plug in either.

GoPro HD Hero 2 Test clip
Linky

There is some noise from the mount(?) and I couldn't be bothered adding music or muting what was there so just left the radio on.

Recorded in 1080p 30fps but converted using Windows Live Movie Maker to 720p. It was just a test and I need to work on the settings used

Working well from this end. Did you decide on Vegas in the end?

Hired a GoPro for something I'm doing tomorrow, but while it was sitting around today I though I'd have a little play, and came up with this:

http://youtu.be/QPSb5VNaFO0

Camera was a GoPro HD (1) with LCD backpack. Mounted using the GoPro suction mount. Edited in FCPX.

As much feedback as possible please... smile

ETA: Bonus points for spotting the PH sticker...

Not really exciting footage, most of it shot in 30/40 zones, but I'm quite pleased with using the crop and zoom to show the dials in close-up, and with some graphics added with transparent .png files to show gear selection.

Bonus points for spotting the tailgating van.

My HD2 footage looks great on the tv played from the sd card, but if I edit it using imovie and burn to DVD in idvd it looks terrible. Any idea what is going wrong?

DVDs are lower resolution than your camera shoots at, so if your TV supports it you will be watching it in high definition from the SD card and at standard definition from the DVD. It should still look OK, though, so I would guess that it is being scaled by iMovie in a way that isn't ideal. I would see if you have any options to change the output format for DVD (stretch versus crop).

I understand that the resolution is lower, but the quality loss is way beyond what you would expect. Footage from camera phone looks better when burt to DVD. I am not sure what is going on. My SD Sony vid cam looks ok on DVD via imovie and idvd, just the gopro footage. It's far from being acceptable by anyones standards.
