Sadly I know virtually nothing about fungi, but when I was out today I spotted this little group growing on a bed of pine needles and thought it might make an interesting shot. I've no idea what sort it is, any info please fellas?

I should think that it's a group of rather old looking fly agaric (Amanita muscaria). Classic toadstool looks and pretty poisonous. Always looks quite cool when you find it in the woods though smile

Thanks smile First time I've seen any. I was a bit surprised to see it covered in flies on a bitterly cold day in November!

yes, an old Fly Agaric for me too. Good find, plenty of people would enjoy the magic finding that mushroom. wink

Is that what it's good for! Thanks, there were some other types which I didn't get shots of (brown semi-circular fans on the trunks of trees) I'll post shots of any interesting ones I see in future smile
