This behaviour amused me today. A squirrel using his tail as a massive shield to protect his face/food from my resident annoying pheasant:

Impressive! Yet another future purchase to add to my wish list.

Unfortunately I wasn't anywhere as beautiful as around your neck of the woods, I was in Germany. The pine marten was a captive one at Gangelt Wildpark.
