It's up to you - I thought the foreground was supposed to be approaching white, but if it's old eggbox you want carry on

Tampon said: Ok a bit opf sunset fun. Digby the Furry f k,for the first time I think, adding to a pic DPP_denham0004 by bennyboy80, on Flickr Best of the recent batch, but the composition doesn't quite work. The backlit & in-focus grasses are lovely (as are the colours) but too small to really see. Try getting in closer (with zoom or just moving) or getting lower so the grasses in the foreground would be larger and not lost in the details. Hope you don't mind me messing with your pics, but here's a couple of suggestions that work a little better IMHO; Obviously it's better to do this before you take the picture but you get the idea. ETA; there's nothing really wrong with the dandelion ones as I see them, but the thistle is a bit confusing - looks like the image is in the wrong orientation, would look more natural rotated 90deg anti-CW (again IMHO).

I don't mind anybody messing with the pictures when they are helping show me how to be better.
I see what you are talking about, the thistle one is a weird one, I tried it in portrait but didn;t seem as good.
I am trying to use my 50mm lens to get used to "old school" ways of composition rather than zooming in and out, doesn't always work though !

Tampon said: Imo certainly your most successful work to date Your dog really does help that 3rd shot, it could be way to 'busy' otherwise. Having him there helps as a reference point, helps with the scale of the scene too.

But expect a call from Martini's lawyers Cheers Simpo, water drop was me finally getting a old m42 lens to work in manual focus and it coming out crisp. The boy with the car, I love it, I think it looks like the lights of the GT3 are looking back at the lad
