May have to get myself one at that price.

Thank you for the review.
Still showing as £49.95 on their website.

Is £37.16 a store only price?

Thanks

Can I ask where you saw it for that price? I wouldn't mind doing picking one up.

Thanks

Didn't realise there was a second Page to the post. The answer to my question is right there.

Is it possible to attach your own ball head, or do you have to use the one that's fitted?
I'm not sure actually, I know the Manfrotto stuff is quite interchangeable but I can't see how the ball head comes off this one...

Quick question, can you remove the head?

I'm going for the bonus ball here:

Don't suppose that hexagonal part at the top of the centre column unscrews so you can change the head?

Got mine yesterday - cracking little tripod and perfect for my Lumix G10.

I can finally throw out my ageing Slik 88.

Cheers PH.

As an extra to this thread, Amazon kindly delivered me a Manfrotto 055xprob tripod today, £7 over budget, but it holds my 1 series body and 100-400 with ease.

What head did you decide upon?

(I have an ancient 055C designed much like that one .... And use Kirk ball and bracket, but will be looking for a fluid head if I get into video....)

Me? a 498 RC2, which took the whole package to £170. I have a 496 head which is sturdy enough, so the 498 will breeze it (but have a quick release plate!)

Ah right! Ballheads are definitely my favourite for static!

Have fun.

Well, I finally used it in anger today. An abortive (due to fog) trip to Saltburn. And it's great; the wheel is simply the best thing ever for quick adjustment. It's easy and quick to extend and lock the legs, and then collapse it again. And most important of all, it's really stable.

My photos still look like the dog took them, but it's one more excuse disposed of...

Exactly the reasons I love mine. The thumb wheel adjustment is genius.
