I was thinking of a GoPro but need to ask this question.

With the wifi pack attached can I still charge and record via the USB as I have a powered USB socket in the car.

Record via USB? Didn't know it did that.

The wifi backpack comes with an extended rear door but uses the standard case, so if you have a skeleton case (an extra for the standard camera packages) you can still connect it to power. Not sure about USB recording though, do you mean connect to a PC and use it like a webcam? Not sure if the camera can do that, I've never tried.

The wifi backpack has it's own built in battery though, rather than running off the camera battery, I don't know yet how long this batery lasts (mine's still waiting at the post office for me to collect it) and you won't be able to charge it while it's in use unless you modify the door or they release a skeleton door for it.

Opps sorry just re-read that. Record whilst charging (charging via USB).

Having picked up my WiFi backpack today, it comes with both and waterproof and an open rear door, and the open one allows you to charge the backpack in use. However the manual says when the backpack's battery gets low it draws power from the camera battery, so you should be able to run the whole thing on a single mini USB with a skeleton case.

I thought that was it. I don't understand why somebody would want to do something wrong, and have to fix it later in software/processing/editing, when with a simple tweak they could get it right in camera. If the image is tilted X degrees one way, adjust the camera X degrees the other. Simples!

I'm not up to speed on current video software but did direct/produce corporates for 15 years. Rotate would be a 2D DVE, is it still that?
But the point is, he doesn't know it's tilted until he gets home and imports the footage as without a screen, there's no way to monitor footage with the GP.

Spirit level, as said.

Also, there's probably no solution other than to shell out for the LCD screen or the WIFI one. I'm intending to buy a GoPro very soon and I need to have a viewfinder so will definitely be getting one of these.

Can anyone shed any light o the pros and cons of each?

I understand that the WIFI one would let me check the picture from inside a car or so, but it might be a bit of a pain to have to cart around my phone as well, especially if I'm getting wet...

Thoughts?
