Random Photos : Part 3

I am - and yes please! The more I research, the more the 1.8 appeals (either in the Panasonic 20mm or the Olympus 45mm flavour), for the sort of photography I enjoy - quite a lot of indoor, attempts at bokeh etc.
These are all just snaps but hopefully they'll let you know what you can do. The first 3 are all rejects but they do show the bokeh quite well. I hope they help. Edit - sorry for the massive image guys.

Hi Folks, I've been lurking far too long admiring some of the excellent pictures, reading and learning from some of the postings. We had a couple of hours of the Aurora on Monday night and I thought I might share a couple.

I am yet to contribute anything worthwhile to this thread - just generally soaking up advice on technique. Hopefully one day I'll post up something like these - fabulous!

And the best way to do tha is go out and take loads of photos! You may well stumble across something you really like when you look at them later.I am yet to contribute anything worthwhile to this thread - just generally soaking up advice on technique. For example I took this while trying out welding glass in front of the camera, it's one of really quite a lot of shots taken that day and the only one I liked at the end up. The proportions etc are mostly luck as I was only trying it out to see what would happen.

Thanks for the comments folks, it has been an interesting week with newspapers and magazines wanting to publish the photos and story! Wasn't expecting to erupt like that.
Below is first photo I took on the night, ISO was way too high but shows the intensity of the Aurora when I first arrived. Looking at the space weather forecast, we may get some more this weekend.

The photos were taken from Ballaugh Beach on the Isle of Man. I've been hunting the Aurora over here for a number of years and in the past only managed to capture a distant glow, it's very rare to see a display like this over here. The conditions on Monday were perfect. When the Aurora doesn't show we end up trying "creative photography"!
