What exactly IS the competition?
It says 'best in the County' but does it mean 'best in the Country'?
Also, by 'Country' does it mean as in UK or as in Countryside?
If it's the latter, then I don't see a picture of a pier fitting in, that's the seaside.
I also don't like 'vote hunters'. If your picture is good enough, it will win on merit. If it's not, it won't. Why do you feel the need to rally the troops for 'pseudo votes'?
If it ends up winning, it will be a hollow victory.
Just my 2p.

Success is a combination of a good idea and excellent marketing - in fact the marketing is often far more influential (50 Shades of Grey for example). If noone knew this image existed, then even if it was the best, it wouldn't win, would it? I don't mean any offence by this, but you have to be very naive to think that merit alone is what makes things successful.

Just my 2p. The competition is run by the Prince's Countryside Fund to promote National Countryside Week. There were six categories and the six photos you see in the vote were the winners of each category. Those six winners were chosen by a panel of Judges so are all there on merit.... I won the 'By the sea' category hence the pier shot. The six winners all won a prize and the overall winner (for which their isn't a prize) is being decided by this vote. Obviously I would like to win but the idea is to raise awareness of countryside week so the organisers have encouraged us to tell all our friends which is why I started this thread. I didn't intend it to offend or seem overly pushy but at the end of the day people can chose to vote for me, for someone else (which I'm sure, as is their right, some who have read this thread have) or not even click on the link at all. Thanks to all who have voted

Thanks for the explanation, now I understand. No problem, you had a good point and perhaps I shouldve explained in my first post but thanks for the reply
