Otispunkmeyer said: Torch Relay-3520 by Alex_Mason, on Flickr just off the uni campus. We had a few torch kisses on campus and this was the last one on the campus (few more done on the way in to town). Our uni put out a program of sorts detailing all the torch bearer's, however for some unknown reason the young lass in this picture declined to have her details published so I have no idea who she is. I assume she was deserving of it! I hope so! I just found out that the girl in this photo is actually Sophie Hitchon.... Team GB Hammer Throw. She looked totally different on the field, though when you put them together its obvious. google image her... got a right pair of shoulders on her! She is very pretty.

First hammer thrower I've fancied! Wonder how it occurs to a girl to take up hammer throwing?
Mind you I wonder how it occurs to anyone to take up pole vault? After seeing it at the Olympics I am totally amazed and have already booked up to see more. It's totally not like on TV. You have to see how high the bar is that the Athletes attempt to vault over to believe it!

Malc Yeah, was superb - think it really set the tone, people not knowing how it would be received, but then seeing that the 1st athletics session was so enthusiastic The noise when the British athletes (and especially Jess Ennis) just appeared was amazing Even liked the 2min extremely-heavy rain shower
