I'd say the same. The Session is good for mounting and much underrated. You could consider getting a separate digital recorder to go with your mic and stick it somewhere that'll give you decent sound - all the camera will pick up is wind/cabin noise. It's pretty simple to combine an audio track with video
Many thanks, I'll check out the Session before buying.

Duncan - Hero4 silver is a solid choice. I have that and haven't needed to upgrade to the Hero5 which has had mixed reviews.

The skeleton housing is great but fragile around the buckle area (mine has snapped).
Thanks, I'll do some final web searches this weekend, then make the choice

Looks like GoPro have reacted to GBP pain and put the prices of their Hero 5 and Hero 5 Session up £50 each.

Go Pro Hero 5 Black
And idea why when I plug charger into USB in car, the camera stops recording?
Also 1 hr film is broken up into 12 minute chunks? Should it do this!

For the charging issue, is the car USB socket one of those which can read data (i.e. for reading mp3s off a memory stick)? It may be switching the camera into "mass storage" mode where it is effectively serving up the files to the car. You could try plugging it into a cigarette lighter to USB (where there will be no data connection).

For the 12-minute issue, yes - a limitation of the file system on the memory card means a file can be no larger than 4Gb, so it'll split it into multiple files.

Wasn't sure where to post this, but this seems a good place to start.

I'm looking for something to securely clamp to roll hoops (mk3 MX5) and ideally have some adjustment. I've got a Xiaomi Yi II on the way and want to use it to record & time-lapse parts of drives. The case bottom mount is the same as GoPro, or 1/4" thread on the cam itself.

I like the look of the products seen here https://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=590469... from RAM Mounts. Looks like my best bet? It looks impressively stable on the autocross video.

Also need some work something out for my C-Class, going to Scotland for a week in a months time and will be driving that.

I'll stick with dash mounted if I can get a nice composition, but for on roof or anywhere else it seems hard to trust the apparently 150mph rated suction mounts after seeing the horror stories. I would definitely be securing it with a rescue cord, but could that scratch the paint if it does fall off and flop around? Alternatively opening the sunroof a bit and clamping to the windbreak or the seal it sits on when shut?

I have this (and paid a lot more) http://www.tweekscycles.com/bike-accessories/camer... really good for Windows or external. Sadly I have no camera now as I returned my alternative brand camera as it was crap compared to GoPro footage. So will need to grab a session when I see a good price.

Got Mrs S a GoPro hero 5,she did an update this morning, the first time of use and we now have a flickering screen in all modes. It is as if the back light can't decide to be on or off.Mrs S has looked into the settings but nothing stands out.

Got any ideas as it is bloody annoying when using the GoPro?

Bought an Isaw Edge last year after my Astak failed to bounce when I dropped it rolleyes. I had a few, well loads of issues with the app on my phone so it would hardly work, but my girlfriend, who knows about such things, but some new software on it and it seems to work ok.

Here are some picture I took today, if they are in the wrong place, feel free to chastise me. I have an Ultra Clamp which has been very good.

^ Given how inexpensive they are compared to GoPros I expected arable picture quality but it's actually quite good!

So hero 5 or hero 5 session? Obviously quite a big difference in price and I like the GPS overlays but some real world help would be appreciated.

Anyone had any experience with the GoPro Hero 5? I am looking for some recommendations for some light underwater and snorkelling use later this month (5m depth max). Thanks

Wow Steve that looks fantastic.

Have you tried to mount the unit on a car yet?

I have one of the cheep feiyu Chinese versions from Amazon, but it was only £130, somthis is almost three times the cost.

However the modular nature of it is really the Great strength of it by the looks of it.

I have been looking at 360 degree cameras like the Nikon Key Mission, but as we know it's not been well received.

Looking at your removue, it's got me thinking, would one of these mounted on my Caterham, using the remote to pan around be a better option?

Must resist!
