I was lucky enough to be in the Bahamas earlier this year and I did a lot of swimming and snorkeling over reefs and following fish as well as fun stuff on a fast boat that was in our possession for a week. I took my HD2 but of course I get back and all the underwater stuff is useless and apparently I should have bought an aftermarket flat lens for the housing.
GoPro do their own flat lens housing now - I've got some great footage I've just shot with it in the Maldives. I guess the standard housing is more for waterskiing than for diving.

A quick video of my trip to the Bahamas complete with soft underwater shots. Not really extreme but more, as my daughter said, middle aged men in a boat biggrin

So has anyone actually recieved their Go Pro 3 yet? Or are poeple referring to 2's that they've ordered?

Actioncameras say they won't be shipping the 3's until 19th Nov. They've taken the money from my account though. But seems strange that others have receievd their's if so?

Bloody hell biggrin What a difference. Is it a complete housing or do you have to change the lens on the housing? Ta.

Complete housing including back door. Just put your camera in it and you're ready to go.

Instead of using the GoPro dive housing on a HD2, I use a Blurfix. Works underwater but also allows me to use standard 55mm filters to control the image better (e.g. UV, polarising, CY/GR, red, etc)

They are also selling a CY underwater filter for the new GoPro 3

Just bought one here in the US while
I'm here in holiday. £330 for the camera, 64gb card and suction cup (yes this is my first one) excited.

Says I need a firmware update before use, anyone know why? I want to use it but don't have access to a computer.

Due to the long lead times for shipping from China (or wherever in Asia it is manufactured), they shipped the cameras without the latest software. So in their rush to bring the camera to market they want you to finish off their production process by updating the camera software (firmware).

No idea if it prevents you from using the camera now though?

It is 2012. Many devices I buy need an immediate firmware update to bring them up to date. Hardly a problem.

64gb card....
Do the new ones support 64Gb cards? I thought the previous ones were limited to 32Gb so that gives a lot more usage time(mind you, the batteries normally go before the card, even doubled up).

I have just ordered my Black edition. . . cost £232 with free delivery and free 8gb card. Currently out of stock but hopefully back in soon!

This is my first go pro but no eying up mounts for snowboarding . . . looking at helmet mount and a pole!

How would one attach it to the snowboard also?

Sounds like a scam to me, way too cheap.

yea definite scam. What site did you order that from? If something is too good to be true, then it normally always is!

I agree, somethings not right there!

Unless of course it's actually the Silver edition you've bought.

I found one site selling Silver at £233 and the Black at £299. Looked to good to be true, then at checkout you see that's the price is ex VAT. Once added the price was the same as everywhere else.
