Can you use both cameras in both, or do you need a + to use the smaller + housing?

Let's just think about this question a bit more. You're asking if the bigger camera will fit in the smaller housing? wink

Small, far away, Dougal. biggrin

I thought the camera was the same size, so was confused as to why there are 2 skeleton cases...

The cameras are both the same size so yes you can use either camera in either housing.

I guess the reason there are two housings is the different styles. The Hero 3+ housing is slightly smaller in keeping with the waterproof housing and the Hero 3 one is in the same style as the original H3 waterproof housing.

Hope that makes sense lol.

Just read that. Similar problem but I am getting no wifi out of the camera at all!
How long have you been waiting for a replacement and where is it coming from?
Mine was purchased at John Lewis at Christmas so presume I'll just rock up and ask for a replacement.
Anyone else done this or will they send it away for a second opinion.
DHL only picked it up this week, so not long !

If I were you I'd try John Lewis, they're usually very helpful.

Dumb point but you have pushed the button on the side and switch wifi on and/or gone into settings and set it for wifi app not remote or off haven't you?
Got mine back now everything working perfectly first time. Preview wifi etc. guess the first one was a lemon.

Has anyone bought unofficial adhesive mounts from the likes of Amazon?

I'm looking to get a couple of the flat and curved ones. Official GoPro ones are £20 for a pack 3 of each shape but it seems hard to find a mix bag, as most places sell 6 of each type for £20 a pack. I've found what I want on Wiggle though, but it's still expensive for what it is.

Loads of places have 3M branded adhesive mounts for GoPros for a lot less than that but I've heard rumours that they fail and the only ones that work properly are the official ones. If this is the case, I'll go for the Official ones at £20, but does anyone have first hand experience? I need them to work properly, they're going on my bike exposed to the windblast and I don't want them to ruin the paint either. So far, the official ones have been perfect but the cost goes against the grain a bit and I tend to be very careful about not wasting them as they are so expensive for what they are.

I bought some 3rd party mounts from Ebay (China) for about a £1!! Same 3M pads are the OE versions, worked OK so far.

Mate has bought cheap Chinese brackets with varying results, so I would only buy official or 3rd party (ally) brackets.

Hmmm. Not sure what to make of it to be honest. Did a wee bit more looking around and found them on Amazon for £17 instead of £20 but it's really hard to tell what's official and what's not until you get the packet through the door.

I think the fact I've had no problems so far suggests I should stick with the official ones, but I just feel like I'm probably being ripped off.

I always think it's best to stick with genuine if you can. Dropped you an email :-)

I have a suction mount on loan but need to return it next week, so am looking for a replacement. As above, best to stick with GoPro or shall I look elsewhere?

With suction mounts, I wouldn't screw about. If one is travelling at x mph, one needs to feel secure about the camera being... secure.

I've been to serious mph with the GoPro and it's not flown off yet.

Agreed. Was just thinking of a Dogcam one as an alternative.
