Guys, sorry if this has been covered recently. Any thoughts on product cycle?
I'm a little late on this one but wanting to upgrade to a hero 3 black, as my 2 is getting a bit long in the tooth now.
Anything news on the horizon for a new model?
If history is anything to go by, the Hero 4 won't be released until October :-)I'm a little late on this one but wanting to upgrade to a hero 3 black, as my 2 is getting a bit long in the tooth now.

Jon, have you seen the new Sony HDR-AS100VR yet?
I had a hold of it while at Le Mans a few weeks back, a friend works for Sony and brought one along.Looks like a lovely piece of kit although having checked out the comparison between the Gopro hero 3 black and the Sony on youtube I'm not entirely sure which is better...
Just out of interest - those of you who have a Fat Gecko Mini Mount with Go Pro adapter - do you just use a GoPro screw thing to wind through the adapter holes? There doesn't seem to be a female bit to screw into, as with other bits that you attache to the camera housing?
I'm probably not explaining myself very well but I'm a bit loathe to go too far with the camera 'just attached' to the adapter, if you know what I mean?

That's what I thought
You slot the two 'prongs' (for want of a better word) of the camera housing in between as normal and then you can get one of the screws to go right through and it is actually quite tight and seems secure(ish) - I went out this afternoon and had it mounted on the fron side and back of the cars as well as the windscreen and didn't lose the camera but I wouldn't want to use it like that as a long-term solution.

Edit - this is how I used it this afternoon You slot the two 'prongs' (for want of a better word) of the camera housing in between as normal and then you can get one of the screws to go right through and it is actually quite tight and seems secure(ish) - I went out this afternoon and had it mounted on the fron side and back of the cars as well as the windscreen and didn't lose the camera but I wouldn't want to use it like that as a long-term solution.
News just in: GoPro have floated and, unlike Facebook, has seen its share price soar on first day trading

Didn't they open at something like $24 a share? I haven't been following the latest prices.http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/06/27/gopro_mark...
