Was it in a pool or the sea. If it was freshwater you might be lucky and be able to dry it out. Just remove the battery and sd card and leave it somewhere warm for a few days or in a bag of rice etc.
here are lots of websites which give you tips on recovering a wet gopro, though the advice is much the same for any electronics that get dunked.
I have to admit though I'm looking at getting my first gopro and the rumours of the not very waterproof housing are a bit worrying. Is it normally a user error issue that makes it fail or is there more to it?

I've retested the housing (without the camera inside) 3 times now and each time I get water ingress.
It sounds like a rather shonky design if I have to minutely inspect the seal each time I close it? I would have thought that I should just be able to put the GoPro in, close the door and not really have to worry too much about it.

Definitely sounds like a faulty housing if it's still leaking and doesn't have an obstruction on the seal. Can you see any part of the seal or housing that would allow water in?It sounds like a rather shonky design if I have to minutely inspect the seal each time I close it? I've just picked up a Gopro 3+ on eBay and need some extra batteries for an upcoming motorbike roadtrip. Can anyone recommend any aftermarket batteries and where to get them from? Or is it a case of just using the official ones?
Thanks!
Hi TimmyWimmyWooThanks!
I picked up a few on amazon about a year ago, looked very similar to this, http://www.amazon.co.uk/AHDBT-302-Rechargeable-Bat...
They have just as much battery as the originals and I've had no problems, they are so much cheaper too.

Looks very stable. A couple of people have mentioned it doesn't reach across the windows in some cars so I would definitely recommended anyone buying this to measure the distance before purchasing. The maximum extended length is 49.5" or 990mm.Heres the other one, just a short road test

Can anybody suggest a decent way to mount a GoPro to a 1/10th RC Car? The sticky pads aren't really up to the job when it flips on to it's roof.
I did this with Velcro on the bottom of the GoPro and the roof of the R/C car, then strapped it down by wrapping tape around the camera and car. Quite a fun perspective, but the footage needed to be slowed down or it was too shaky to watch...so back on the case with the gopro stuff in advance of another European trip in a week or so. Picked up a 3 White to go with the 3 black for a multi camera set-up. Impressed with the wi-fi remote...was fairly easy to hook the additional camera in and both cameras start/stop at the same time(ish).
However, irritated with a new 'feature' in the firmware(?) that 'protects' the user from deleting files when connecting the device to a computer via USB, something that is of course necessary to clear space. This means you have to manually delete the files on the device or remove the Micro SD, stick into an adapter and place into the PC/Laptop card reader directly....quite annoying if you want to mount the camera out of the way in the car. Any ideas guys or am I missing something obvious?
