Ok, so to,save having to scour all the pages.......
Anyone found the socket for the charging lead on the 3+ to be a weak point?
Mines broken and rattling around inside the camera, not sure how it happened other than might have caught the lead but thought it was ok, went to plug it in to charge and the connector pushed into the camera.
Can no longer charge it grrrrrrrrrr.
I believe its just out of warranty too.
Any idea on cost of repair?
Cheers
Gary
Hey Gary, I had a call from a customer who'd bought his GoPro from Ebay and is currently having to deal with GoPro direct in the Netherlands.Anyone found the socket for the charging lead on the 3+ to be a weak point?

Where and when did you buy yours?
Our cameras come with a 2 year warranty and claims are dealt with in-house so it's less hassle and much faster.

I've been made aware that purchases outside the EU you only get 12 months warranty, mines just over that so no warranty now
Can you PM as I need to buy new one as was using mine for a time lapse project
Cheers

I have bitten the bullet and ordered a new GoPro 4 Silver. The deal of a free 64GB SD card or 3-way mount with every purchase was too good to pass up.
I decided against the black edition on the grounds that I do not have anything to view or edit 4k on and the battery life of the black does not look great compared to the silver in independent tests, I also noted that 64GB does not give you much 4k recording time.
Annoyingly no frame mount in stock on their website.

Today I made a home-made GoPole
I took one rather manky Vileda mop that had been sat outside for ages and is now totally beyond use, and drilled out the end coupling.
I then took the end coupling, a GoPro link, an M5 bolt, an M5 nut (I used a wing nut), and two M5 repair washers...
... and assembled. Ta-daa!
The mop handle extends, giving you a pole between 0.9M and 1.6M in length.
(Pic is photoshopped to show either extreme. I didn't make two!)
Edit: I noticed that the prongs of the GoPro link were being pinched together a little and so I added some M5 washers between them to prevent that. I haven't bothered to re-photograph though.
