Ok, so to,save having to scour all the pages.......

Anyone found the socket for the charging lead on the 3+ to be a weak point?

Mines broken and rattling around inside the camera, not sure how it happened other than might have caught the lead but thought it was ok, went to plug it in to charge and the connector pushed into the camera.

Can no longer charge it grrrrrrrrrr.

I believe its just out of warranty too.

Any idea on cost of repair?

Cheers

Gary
Hey Gary, I had a call from a customer who'd bought his GoPro from Ebay and is currently having to deal with GoPro direct in the Netherlands.

Where and when did you buy yours?

Our cameras come with a 2 year warranty and claims are dealt with in-house so it's less hassle and much faster.

Unfortunately (or however you look at it) HKG

I've been made aware that purchases outside the EU you only get 12 months warranty, mines just over that so no warranty now

Can you PM as I need to buy new one wink as was using mine for a time lapse project

Cheers

I have bitten the bullet and ordered a new GoPro 4 Silver. The deal of a free 64GB SD card or 3-way mount with every purchase was too good to pass up.

I decided against the black edition on the grounds that I do not have anything to view or edit 4k on and the battery life of the black does not look great compared to the silver in independent tests, I also noted that 64GB does not give you much 4k recording time.

Annoyingly no frame mount in stock on their website.

I would love to buy exactly the same from him, but he seems to have gone awol!
I have sent a message, but it may have ended up in his trash box.

We've been talking to Feiyu-Tech and they are saying around 4 weeks away which is a shame as it'll be New Year now before we get them.

Today I made a home-made GoPole
I took one rather manky Vileda mop that had been sat outside for ages and is now totally beyond use, and drilled out the end coupling.

I then took the end coupling, a GoPro link, an M5 bolt, an M5 nut (I used a wing nut), and two M5 repair washers...

... and assembled. Ta-daa!

The mop handle extends, giving you a pole between 0.9M and 1.6M in length.
(Pic is photoshopped to show either extreme. I didn't make two!)

Edit: I noticed that the prongs of the GoPro link were being pinched together a little and so I added some M5 washers between them to prevent that. I haven't bothered to re-photograph though.

Does anyone know the emmited power and frequency of the WiFi on a 3+ please? We've got to use them where these things matter and the specs don't give enough detail(Nexux 7 details would be helpful too!)

Me too please. I would prefer to buy from you as well.

If you can drop me a note with your email and I can then discuss which one to get for my son.

Thank you.

What spec laptop or pc are you guys using to edit any video captured in 1080p?
Mine packed up the other day and was old (win xp) so i'm looking for a new laptop in the £300 range that is quick for processing videos

LOL - yes you need a fair bit of power to process 1080p videos 'quickly'

I use a Macbook Pro and the free iMovie software that it comes with.
