Good one biggrin
LOL - yes you need a fair bit of power to process 1080p videos 'quickly'

I use a Macbook Pro and the free iMovie software that it comes with.
Ok lets try again, what laptops do you guys use that seem to process the files with relative ease?

I have a MacBook Pro 13inch Retina that I use for my editing. I tried various PC editing packages and after seeing my friends mac and iMovie I decided to take the plunge into the darkside of Mac.

The mac is powerful enough to trascode on the fly so no need to spend ages waiting for the project to transcode before previewing it. The mac is expensive but iMovie comes free which is a great piece of software, it comes installed with a great variety of preset effects, transitions, and titles and above all is very easy to use.

Here is an example video from a couple of years back went I purchased an additional GoPro and started to experiment with PiP and transitioning between cameras, knocked together in iMovie in less than 30 minutes...

I have a 2012 MacBook air and it copes with 1080p editing fairly easily in iMovie. However it's not the standard version as I spec'd it up to the best processor and ram I could get at the time.

Chaps,
Managed to snag myself a new Hero for less than £80 last week from Halfords!

What's the best SD cards to use in these?

Thanks!

You can't really go wrong with Sandisk to be honest. I don't bother buying anything else as it's a known quantity for me now.

They had a '10% off Everything' day so reserved online (£89.99), went in and handed over my British Cycling Discount card (10%) which brought it down to £81.00 - paid with a card linked to Quidco (2.5% cash back) so grand total of £78.97

Will check out the recommended cards.

Apologies if this has already been covered in this thread, I've had a look through the last few pages and can't find anything.

Does anyone know if the Hero 4 Silver uses the same batteries as the Hero 3? Looking for a stand alone charger and they all seem to be for the 3 or 3+.

Thanks in advance.

I am not sure if the GP3/3+ uses the same batteries as the GP4 but I do know where you can get a standaone charger from.

I bought this with my GP4 and very pleased. It comes with a spare battery so I can have one in the camera and then leave the other in the car on charge.

I'm considering purchasing a GoPro. Is there any difference between the GoPro Entry and the Hero 4 Silver? I've been reviewing both now and they both look exactly the same to me.

Is there such a thing a steadycam/gimbal type mount which I could attach to the car?

I'm wanting to smooth out some of the track day footage so some sort of stabilising device would be ideal. It could either be some sort of gopro mount or a more traditional camera mount. I see a few options, but they all seem to be handheld and not mountable.
