according that I can shoot 60fps Medium on my 3 Silver, but I can't (only using Wide, which looks stupid on the bike).
You can definitely do 60fps/medium on the 4 Silver (its what i used on the bike)

Great, thanks! smile

I'm gonna see what I can get for the 3 Silver then. My in-laws are going to the USA soon but prices for a 4 over there look to be very similar to here...

A bit far for me to help you out, but know any keen cyclists with a British Cycling membership? Or ask on PedalPowdered if theres anyone with one within a few miles of your local Halfords. Its still £290 there, so you'll save £29 off that, plus if you use Quidco you'll save even more (its estimating between £6.50 and £15 cashback will be coming my way)

Thanks for this too!

I'm going to see what I can get for my 3 first as I want to try and use that to pay as much as I can towards the 4. Great tips, cheers! smile

Anyone else had occasion to correspond with Gopro support in the UK and had nothing but problems????

Sent my broken 3black edition to them in December as of last night im still trying to order a new one from them and had nothing but problems!!!!!

Numerous email, phone calls, and attempted purchase but there payment collection keeps failing!!!

Last night I spoke to my CC company, go pro attempted payment '6' times, each time it was authorised but each time gopro failed to collect!!!!

Been ongoing since start of the month.

Anyone else had issues?

That usually indicates your card hasn't passed "their" security measures. More than likely and address/postcode mismatch. We see it alot. Your bank authorises it because it's you and your card but the vendor rejects the authorisation because it doesn't meet their fraud criteria.

Check the address you have given them matches EXACTLY as your bank statement reads. The first line is very important and the house numbers/name needs to match.

Hope this helps.

Evening all,

Was hoping for a bit of help from the experts in suggesting the best GoPro for me please. I'm looking to use it for a trip round India as a secondary camera and to put it on my backpack for an alternative view! I'll also be looking to use it as a camera for runs notably for the Athens marathon later in the year.

I've done a bit of reading on this thread and it looks as though some people have a few issues with skipping etc. so any help would be appreciated as I want something relatively reliable!

Thanks all!

I've just bought a hero 4 silver for a trip around Vietnam/Cambodia for the exact same purpose. I've been playing with it quite a bit and haven't had any issues what so ever. Spend a bit of time going through amazon and you can buy all the accessories you will need of maybe £40.

Take some time and get on youtube, learn the different resolution qualities and frame rates and you'll be fine. The camera is impressive on it to. I played around with some long exposure shots the other night and they came out brilliantly.

I bought a 4 Silver last month and took it on a skiing trip.

No issues either - the res at 1080p/60fps looks brilliant. Putting together a vid using the GoPro Studio and it seems pretty easy once you've identified the clips you need.

Whats the best bet for editing software. I simply cannot get GoPro studio to work on either of my PC's as it will not convert anything.

Sorry if this has already been covered - but I can't read though 117 pages!

Anyone use the ProDrenaline software for their shaky stuff?

Does it work well?

Most issues like this are caused by using a sub-standard memory card. GoPro only recommmend two memory cards which have been tested to cope with 4K, ProTune, etc.

The Silver is massively popular and has a built-in LCD screen. If you need to film 4K at 30fps or 1080 at 120fps then choose the Black Edition. This months firmware update will also allow 720/120fps on the Black Edition.

Drop me a message if you want anything ;-)

Hi, a quick "which camera" question;
Fancy an action cam for mountain biking, family holidays (water stuff / skiing) and general use. I am currently undecided between GoPro 4 Silver and Drift HD Ghost S.
Battery life and remote on Drift seem better, but Gopro should give better images and have more mounts.
Is there anything I've overlooks or any other options?
thanks

Hi Boro

Thanks for the reply, I think its an issue there side, I actually went through all the details with the support staff member and he stated that everything he inputted was 'exactly' as spelt an, i used the card since and had no issue!!

For your info, its not the one i bought off you it was my previous model as the connector for the power lead broke off inside the camera and was rattling around. It was out of warranty but they have offered a 'discount' on a new one if i sent the old one to them to investigate, so I've been trying to purchase it since the beginning of january.

I have had an email fro them today saying their 'cart' is under maintenance so I've still not been able to take advantage of the discount

Cheers

I don't own a GoPro, but when this email came through this morning it reminded me I'd seen this thread.

Sport Pursuit have a sale of GoPro accessories for those interested.

Hi Boro, about to buy a black bolt helmet mount from you dude. However €13.50 for postage to Ireland seems a bit steep for a relatively small package ? Can you do me any kind of a Pistonheads favour ? Regular post, doesn't even have to be in packaging tbh. Cheers.
