Evening!
Anyone that simply uses their GoPro for trackday videos, have you got around the problem of sound? I run mine in a skeleton case but the microphone still isn't the best.

I'd like to get an internal mic, pref a low profile one, to cancel out the noise. Any suggestions?
I bought a Audio Technica ATR-3350 ATR Series Omnidirectional Condenser Lavalier Microphone and connect it to a Go Pro Blac 3+ using an official usb audio/mic leadAnyone that simply uses their GoPro for trackday videos, have you got around the problem of sound? It has around 5 metres of cable with it so I set up the Gopro outside the car at the front in a cheap ebay skeleton mount, connect the mic and run it through the front boot (Boxster), taped to the side of front wing, along into the car and then out through to the rear boot and out again and taped near the rear number plate to capture my sports exhaust in all its glory
Mic cost about £20 (Amazon) and could easily be placed anywhere on or around the car you need, wherever the camera may be! Its button battery powered too.

Did you have a wind jammer fitted?
Yes wind jammer was fitted. I have been home today so have been experimenting with the mic on my 3 and 3+. I think its a connecting problem as there is no difference in sound and its like its still running off the internal mic. I have a non-official mic adapter cable and this may be the issue from what I have researched. Have ordered an official cable so will see hopefully that will work.
Another issue I have found out is that when I connect my 3+ to a PC, it charges but it does not connect to the computer. I have tried all the trouble shooting but no joy. It must be the usb connector in the camera. Just hoping that this wont stop it from reading the external mic.

if you connect it, it charges....if you connect it and switch the Gopro ON it connects as a USB storage device
Unfortunately it's not an issue of it not being usedit properly. I have another 3 black and that works just fine. The usb connector is actually broken. On further research I have found that it's quite common. The good thing however is that I have the mic working again. The mic adapter lead I bought was non go pro and was the reason why the mic was not connecting. I had an official lead delivered today and it works fine. Pity I didn't get it sorted out before my trip to Wales. Have great video footage of epic roads but crappy sound. Luckily the broken usb on the camera has not affected the audio pin so mic works fine. Not sure if this is the right thread, I've just pre-ordered a TomTom Bandit.
Reading the reviews it's up there with others (including gopro) however with a much friendlier interface for editing your movies.
£299 inc. free delivery and I'll buy the 50m lens cap when it's available. The battery life at three hours seems prety good too
30 day money back guarantee and hopefully here in May just in time for Le Mans and my trip to Italy.

Any recommendations for a 32gb memory card for the Hero 4 Black?
The one I just purchased (PNY Micro SDHC Class 10 UHS-1) is super pants and can not support the write speeds of anything greater than 720! Forget 4k.
Would like to hear your options on a card that would handle this.
Thanks

Also, a question for anyone who has used both:
I was thinking of buying a 3+ Silver and a remote for give or take £250-270ish. That of course puts the 4 Silver in reach, but obviously not with a remote.
My question is, given that budget, is the 4 so much better as to be worth not having the remote for?
My needs:
1080 @60fps
Good low light performance
Timelapse
Uses:
Motorcycling (hence very keen on the remote as that makes the Drift very appealing)
Skiing
Wakeboarding
Snorkelling/diving
Also, I have a Hero2 plus the flat dive housing and floaty backdoor. Presumably the newer models are good to go for diving out the box?
On the others and, the Ghost S price drop to £250 for camera, remote and mounts looks like a ready to go solution and may be a better form factor for biking/skiing. Torn.

Go Pro Hero for £94? Any good?
Will be using it for motorbike trackdays. Can I fit an external mic to this model? Thanks
What model Hero? Expensive for an old one but a bargain if it's newish, I'd have thought...Will be using it for motorbike trackdays. Can I fit an external mic to this model? Thanks
ETA - or do you mean the current entry level Hero model? If so, no external mic option.

It's pretty basic so no external mic, no wifi, only one FOV (wide), etc. Will be using it for motorbike trackdays. Can I fit an external mic to this model? Thanks
But it's great value for money for a starter camera, and then if/when you do decide to upgrade it can become a secondary camera.

Thanks for this. Looks like a solid purchase to start off with. I don't want to spend too much, it will literally be strapped to the front of the bike and do nothing else. But it's great value for money for a starter camera, and then if/when you do decide to upgrade it can become a secondary camera.

Not a gorpro but this ticks the boxes, has image stabilisation to. Only downer is you will need to upgrade the case for diving as standard is 5m. Think same maybe for the new gopro to. The Amazon price is like a yoyo but £270 direct should be doable. I was thinking of buying a 3+ Silver and a remote for give or take £250-270ish.
