Fully programable digital timelapse timer that can also support mobiles phones and small lense DSLR cameras.

What's the weight limit and does it rotate both ways?

I've been usuing the GoPro software for editing, but my hard disk is filling up. Do I need to keep the intermediate files I create from stage 1? Then add to the timeline in state 2? These seem to be the big files.

Has anyone got any workflow tips which may be helpful?

Have you tried using the The Frame?

Why do you need to transcode them?

Can't you just encode the final edit?

I don't know!

All I know is that when I concert from camera format it produces bloody big files, but these are needed for the "stage 2"/edit tab.

If I delete these files, then reopen the project will it cause problems? Is it easy to redo them with the same intro/exit points etc?

I picked up a gopro hero 3+ silver at argos on the black friday deals. looking forward to playing with it, but my OH has already stolen it from me and told me it's to be my christmas present! BOOO!

In other news I tried out the egg timer hack with my phone today for a timelapse. If it wasn't so bloody cold and windy, I think the results would have been okay (my mount was wobbling a little in the wind), plus my stamina would have endured.

I wanted to catch the ferry going in or out, but think I missed it already.

Hi all,

Wonder if anyone might be able to help smile

Looking to pick up a GoPro for use with my car mostly with the odd bit of water usage on the cards also. Is there an advantage to trying to go for the motorsports bundle out of the box? Presumably this will come with the mounts I'd need to attach the camera to my Noble. For trackdays I know I'll need to pick up an internal mount but for my roadtrips etc I'd like to affix it to the bodywork or spoiler (with a tether most likely, because I'm a pessimist)

Have also read that the adventure version includes the same mounts as the Motorsports, can anyone confirm this?

Only looking for 1080p really so think the Hero 4 silver may suit my needs, but happy to be corrected if the black offers better image quality on timelapses etc?

Thanks,
Alex

Edit: Looking at the GoPro website they only seem to list standard, surf or music versions now? The more I read though the more I think the standard version might even come with the majority of the kit I need to mount it on my bodywork?

The standard Hero4 comes with the waterproof case, 2 adhesive mounts (one flat one curved) 2 quick release buckles for the mounts and a pivot arm which should cover what you need to get started. More mounts are plentiful from various sources so it's not really an issue.

The adhesive mounts are strong and should be good for car body work. If you want multiple angles though you might want to consider a decent suction mount because once you remove the sticky stuff, you need new sticky stuff which can get tiresome. I've removed a couple from my motorbike recently that left no marks at all.

Tethers come in all shapes and sizes, I bought some steel tethers from Amazon that you cut to whatever length you need and crimp yourself which are more useful for me but there'll certainly be one to suit your needs.

I quite like the looks of the GoPro Session due to the size, or lack of, which would be great for mounting on the bike. I was tempted to get one when they were £225 but after reading a couple of reviews I though that they might be a little overpriced.

I bought a Garmin Virb last year but due to the big, clunky looking mounts I've never really used it on the bike but I reckon that the GoPro would be ideal.

With the new RRP down to £150, is it worth the money?

This is going to be interesting too, especially for track days. You could mount the Bluetooth mic anywhere on the car, in particular near the exhaust ;-)

So is there a reason that the basic one for under £100 won't be any good for my 10yo lad for Christmas?

I think some of his pals have asked for Go-Pro's and don't want him to be left out.

Any opinions on this cheaper one?
