I'm an enthusiastic car photographer myself. Couple weeks ago I shot a wonderful BMW E30 M3 Evolution for a client. Really happy with the results, what do you guys think?

Not sure if you're old enough to remember a magazine called Fast Lane, but it's photographers and the images they produced were iconic, made the magazine what it was and one of the main reasons why it is remembered so so fondly by so many.

Your work is so reminiscent of that magazine it's uncanny.

In my humble opinion I think your works consistently outshines pretty much every automotive photographer out there and definitely shows those who rely heavily on 'post' what truly creative automotive photography is all about.
I think Fast Lane was just slightly before my time as I've only ever heard of it I'll try and hunt down a few copies though.

Thanks for the kind words, it's appreciated.
This is worth hunting down

I've got a near complete set of Fast Lane magazines stored in my garage. A few issues sadly went missing (including the first) during a house move at some point.

As everyone has said, a fantastic photo though even more special for us as we did the exact same loop on our honeymoon last summer smile

I thought the sustenpass was the best, topped off by coming round a corner to see the road go through the waterfall! Was this flowing whilst you were there? I'm surprised you didn't shoot it as it's such an unusual occurrence!

Anyway, loved your work on the article there fella thumbup

You want to hang on to those. They may be worth something one day ...

Put the iPhone in your pocket and use a camera. wink

On a serious note, lose the filters: they look awful. Even with a quick snap photo composition counts for a lot. You can then use something like Pixlr Express to enhance saturation/contrast etc as required.

But don't dip into the filters.

Just don't.

Please.

I intend to. Looks like they are selling for about £5 to £8 a copy on Ebay (just bought the first edition again smile) Occasionally look one out to re-read. I still have the "Now Hear This" tapes that came with a couple of the issues as well, but no longer own anything to play them on biggrin

Took my granddads Healey for a spin last week. Huge fun to drive, but also a lovely car to shoot so I decided to take some shots at. I don't have a lot of professional gear but I work my way around that. You can do a lot with just one radio triggered speedlight and a softbox. These images show how I build up my images.

Lighting the car

Finished
