Why are there so few car photographs?

From this morning's Sunday Service, pleased with it but shame about the bug 'debris'.

A little soft and noisy this one but I thought it captured things pretty well:

Given the generally (although thankfully not quite universal) high standard of photographs of cars on this thread, I've been a bit reluctant to share mine.
I edited the TVR car club magazine for a while and went to various events to cover them for the magazine. One such was a visit to the Top Gear base for a feature on the TVR marque. My job was to take pictures that told a story, at least in the main, and this was my main consideration. Every now and again I'd go for something arty, but the readers would often criticise an image that I thought was great. In the end the effort didn't seem worthwhile.
I'm a big fan on Clarkson's writing - I'm a writer rather than photographer, as will become apparent - and so I was more than a little excited.
Clarkson was to drive the pre-production prototype Sagaris. Here he is seen with the chassis designer.
Clarkson also drove the V10 Porsche.
And here he is taking to the track.
As indeed did I.
There was a pro photographer there who struggled with the high contrasts. She was very helpful and chatted about what I should look for in pictures for a club magazine. A very pleasant woman full of good ideas. In five minutes she came out with a dozen pointers. Never got to thank her as she went back to working and when I looked for her later she'd gone.
Don't be too harsh on the pictures. Remember that I had a job to do, one that I was new to.
