Bought first SLR in May. Few of my favourite shots of the past few months.
All taken on kit lens.
Really? Which one did you buy?

Very confidence inspiring.

Had a go at light painting last night after reading a thread on here a week or so back:

Hints / tips welcome.

Not bad for an early attempt. You're losing the top of the car into the gloaming though, so you can do either or both of: longer exposure to get some light in the b/g for separation, lightpaint the edges of the car to give some rim lighting. It'd also benefit from some light in the interior & a bit more on the nearside f3/4.

Thanks for the feedback. First time I've tried this but I can see where to improve it, just need to figure out how! Canvas roof is an issue so may try back lighting or just drop the roof.

Stuart, its exactly the same principle as when I lightpainted your car:

Porsche Boxster S by khalid.bari80, on Flickr

You get a different effect with a black car as just the highlights show up but otherwise the same thing.
