Why are there so few car photographs?

Seen in the Museu de la retirada a Camprodón - small town in Spanish Catalonia - wondered if anyone knew what sort of car this is?

Packard is suggested.

I had some time on my hands today so i took a little drive down to Goodwood to practice a little motorsport photography, my panning always needs a bit of practice. As i was editing them a song came on the radio with the lyrics "It's always harder than it seems" which was quite apt The panned shots were 1/80th i think, which meant more misses than hits, but thats the beauty of digital!
Anyway i think i need some inspiration, i always find whenever i shoot motorsport my shots are "fine." That is i am happy enough with them technically, but they lack something that properly good motorsport shots have. This wasn't a race or anything ( a bunch of rich people down for the qatar festival at Goodwood at hired the course and put on various cars for them to drive around in ) so there was no wheel to wheel action to capture.
C&C greatly appreciated.

Agreed, general composition, pin sharp driver/passanger, tyre smoke etc, but the expression on the driver's face take it to the next level IMO. Great shot!

This Darraq was similar, although I didn't take a photo that showed it, all that separated the driver from the flywheel and the driveshaft was a bit of wire mesh. Even then, that was probably a modern concession to health and safety. Brilliant cars to experience, especially being driven in anger!

Funky caddy powered Allard sideways at La Source. Popping and banging, because: "We got stuck in Bruxelles traffic and that did her not much good. We were late and had ample time to fix her up for the race." - that's right, bros drove their racing car from Blighty to Spa to race it!
Oh yes!
