Took a few of the old boat down the beach. Think I need to make them more contrasty though as they dont 'ping' much. I just wanted to avoid clipping and losing the lovely clouds and making things look a bit more filmic than electronic. Maybe drop the luminance first and then push the contrast a bit more?

Nice Boat Ken. I reckon there's plenty of scope to whack up the contrast without losing the sky smile

Quite pleased with this, since it was taken on a Sony RX100.

I think you are right mate - pushed it a bit below but kept it subtle and 'cinematic'. Wish I could move the vignette to the right a bit. Doesn't seem to be any way to do that in Camera RAW?

Hmm - the only way I know of doing it would be using something like Colour Efex which is part of Google's Nik Collection. I use it as a plug-in for Photoshop Elements (cost £95). There may well be other ways though!

Quickie from tonight. Lasers! Well, technically not because they only switch on above 37mph… but hey.

You could use the radial filter - furthest to the right at the top of the window, just a case of placing it where you want (make sure you select outside) then adjusting the exposure sliders

Getting out and about with my new 24-70 2.8. Really loving it, although it's slightly showing up my old 5D!

Its a big lump and a go to lens that one. Its SO doesn't hold f2.8 all through the zoom range though - ask any moving picture man! Pants on fire Canon!

What's SO? It's the 2.8 mkII. Can't fault it for stills anyway!

Standing order!

LOL - sorry a typo. Its SOOOOO not F2.8 all the way - its at least half a stop down at 70mm smile

I'm actually looking at the Canon 24-105 F4 - seems to be a good buy at about £500 for a full frame L lens - our 24-70 F2.8 is triple!

No idea how it stands up cinematically but it's pretty solidly useful as a stills lens.

You might get one for something much closer to £400 these days - there seem to be plenty out there liberated from Kit systems.
