I think you've overcooked this one. The shadows don't make much sense and it gives it the impression of being flat when I reckon by the beautiful light, it was quite contrasty. Also you're getting banding in the sky, although I guess that could be Thumbsnap's downsizing.
I totally agree, I was short of time and I'm still getting to grips with my new HDR software but wanted to get some images posted. I'm going to go back to it when I have time ... whenever that will be.

thumbup Glad you took that the right way. HDR software is great if used very, very carefully IMHO. It might work to keep the shadows dark and perhaps just dodge or HDR the car a touch so it pops. Looks like a great location.

Constructive criticism is always appreciated.
Sometimes it takes someone else to tell you what you already know.
I'm going work on the image a little more and then re post.
The location was amazing. Took 90 minutes of the roughest road Ive ever driven to get there but it was worth it.

I have taken photos of my own car lots of times. I often think about dropping a leaflet on nice car windscreens I see saying I'll do free car photos like these for them, but never get round to doing it, and I don't really want to be laying hands on another man's car either as that's just bad manners I feel!

Car meets is the only other way I guess...

Anyway, my car:

Huge improvement -- like it! Maybe the sky is a touch too saturated if I'm being picky. boxedin

I failed with mine mate as I kept it too natural. But no sky looks like that so back it off towards natural colours. Naturally!

Sorry, but compositionally this image looks unbalanced with the vehicle too far into the right bottom corner making it feel cramped, added to which there is little of interest in either the foreground or background, the sky as already mentioned is far too saturated, but then it is just a holiday snap! wink

In you're opinion, of course. ;o). I'm glad you're not my picture editor. lol

As for the sky, it looks more saturated on here for some reason than it does on my screen. However, anyone who has been to that part of the world will tell you that the skies are the bluest you've ever seen, you just have to see them.
