Why are there so few car photographs?
Discussion
One of my favourite 'togs for motorsport and cars on here is Tim AKA Motion Captured.
Here are some of the better examples of my feeble attempts at car related photography. I really need to have another go now I've got L glass rather than Canon 70-300mm () and a bit more of a clue Some of these are sloppily taken and sloppily edited. I seem to recall being quite proud of them at the time. Actually, I still am of the first shot. It might be soft thanks to equipment, but the speed it was doing when I got that panning shot, which was also my first ever attempt at panning pleased me no end!

I agree. That photo is frankly, sublime. Here are a few of mine, though I really want to do more, and will be more enthusiastic about doing so when I have some new L glass.

I have a lot more aviation stuff than car stuff, as that's what originally got me into photography.
If anyone in Essex would be interested in meeting up at an interesting location for some photos, give me a message

Really nice shot, wish you'd done a separate shot with the correct exposure for the headlights and merged them in together, would be even more killer if you did
Oh, and tip, host somewhere better like flickr as the compression is awful

I don't know anything about pictures (I've never even considered the idea of a layered picture) and I use the beta image upload, I do have a photobucket account though so maybe I should use that more
Well if you don't know anything about pictures that's a damn good effort GFWilliams said:

High praise indeed, thanks!...I like to bugger about with photoshop but in terms of using a camera I have no idea, I can see a good photo (if that makes sense) but don't know how to translate it best to a camera...the above is an example of that I guess. Amazing stuff Chebs!
I'm hugely into taking photos of cars too and consider pushing it as a service on a regular basis - not sure what the private market is like though, or the commercial one for that matter.
Anyway onto the photos

Apart from the fact most of you are professional lensmen, is it fair to say that in order for amateurs to produce reasonable results, they must also know some form of photoshop, as most of these images have been altered in some way?
Interesting point. Altered as in changing the scene (cloning, depicting movement) or as in changing levels, contrast, colours, sharpening?Anyway, my very amateur style:
