Lots of people think Flodge is a lurcher. Certainly not many realise he's a pure border collie, well as pure as a farm collie can be...

Old Hemp, a tricolor dog, was born in September 1893 and died in May 1901. He was bred by Adam Telfer from Roy, a black and tan dog, and Meg, a black-coated, strong-eyed dog. Hemp was a quiet, powerful dog that sheep responded to easily. Many shepherds used him for stud and Hemp's working style became the Border Collie style. All pure Border Collies alive today can trace an ancestral line back to Old Hemp. This is Flodge's best mate, Wilson

Welsh Sheepdog.....
I've read it was quite common for farmers to breed collies with greyhounds to get faster sheepdogs. I suspect that happened somewhere back in Flodge's family tree, he's certainly as fast as any whippet or lurcher that we meet.Welsh Sheepdog.....
As usual - some guide dogs from me.
Woody on the left, Pilot on the right. Going for their walk.
On their walk
Pilot loves the long grass
What they're normally like after a day at school
Both of them are now out in the big bad world guiding people. (Pilot only left us on Tuesday, Woody a couple of weeks ago).
Forgot to add - Rottie - those pictures are huge.
