It would be such a beautiful photo if my eyes wouldn't be more drawn to the door frame and radiator valve on the right than to the dog. Have you tried a tighter crop?

I agree, a tighter crop would have got rid of the distractions. The purpose of the photo was just a test of using the Brenizer method - according to the calculator this shot is effectively done with a 50mm f/1.0 lens though is actually 9 shots taken at 85mm f/1.8
