Boro,

Did you find anything out about the adapter plates for the H33D.

I'd posted a link a while back.

I'm looking extra batteries and FPV kit as well.

Been doing a lot of reading up on the DJI Phantoms and there are some disturbing reports of "fly-aways" where the quad just flys away for no apparent reason, and will not respond to the come home command.

Anyone had any such problem with theirs?

Some people are fitting the quad with GPS trackers in the hope that they will help locate it should they experience the problem.

No such problems here but I do make sure I calibrate the compass, lock GPS before take off and stay away from strong magnetic field like power lines, transmitters, etc.

Do you have a link to the GPS locators being used?

This one seems to be the current favorite on Phantompilots.com

Also people are also using pet / kid trackers, but these are a lot more expensive

Thanks. Just ordered one. Also ordered another one from China which is smaller for around the same money...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Quad-band-Real-time-mini...

I see they need a 2G not 3G pay as you sim card which the one in your link has supplied but any ideas what sim card it will be as I'll need another one for the chinese one I've ordered.

The PawTrax uses a Giff Gaff SIM which runs on O2.

As I understand it, you just need to get a SIM which is 2g compatible.

Most are 2g and 3g, so most should "work".

Big exception would be any based on the Three network, which is only 3g.

Be good to get your feedback on the Chinese one.

ETA .. Unless you plan on running both at the same time, why not just swap the SIM cards over?

Great! I'm on giffgaff anyway and have some spare giffgaff sims kicking about so I'll try that when it arrives. I'll see what sim card the UK one works on too and try and track them down if the giffgaff sim doesn't work.

The chinese one got some good reviews on the forums so fingers crossed, being smaller and lighter will help but I'm tempted to take it apart anyway and hardwire it to the DJI power so I don't have another gadget to charge up before flying.

Will let you know how it goes :-)

I have one of these GPS trackers and the problem is when flying in rural areas, woodland etc reception can be very poor and you find the tracker will fail to work.

I've not had any 'fly away' moments or anything like that yet. I calibrate the compass before every flight and go into the 'find my phantom' section of the app and make sure that both gps dots are at the same location.

I think some people have been taking off before this and the home point is set at wherever they last were...So if they loose signal and it goes into RTH mode it goes to the wrong 'home'

Just means an extra 5-10mins before you can take off to ensure everything is as it should be

I have been trying to resist buying one of these but they look like too much fun!

Boro, can you send me the details/prices for your site please.

They are awesome fun Andy. I flew my first FPV flight yesterday and it makes it so much easier to frame the shot and follow your chosen path when you can see exactly what the camera sees.

So I've notice a lot of Andy's like these things haha.

Has anyone got much experience with the ground station app and setup?

Do you mean something like the 7" Black Pearl Monitor/Receiver setup or the actual DJI App?
