Yes was part of a bundle, the bubble wrap is unexciting and has a charger in it.
What s/w do you use to correct the lens distortion from the GoPro?
I personally use Adobe Premiere for all my editing, but I'm pretty sure that GoPro Cineform Studio (the free software that the GoPro comes with) can do it too (I think it's "remove fish-eye" or something)What s/w do you use to correct the lens distortion from the GoPro?

Awesome......Where did you buy from?
I was hoping to buy a Phantom 2 with gimbal and run FPV with the iSOD. No idea how to set that up.
Is there a plug and play version as I have little use of my right hand and I'm not going to be able to take things apart, solder ETC.
It's not plug and play out of the box, but if you get all the bits there's a cable you can buy from firstpersonview.co.uk that makes it plug and play I've got one on order, the cable is due early February as it's brand new.
In fact, if you send an email to firstpersonview.co.uk and explain what you're after they'll get you all set up

Ok cheers. I think I might have seen a youtube vid on these guys. I'll check them out.In fact, if you send an email to firstpersonview.co.uk and explain what you're after they'll get you all set up
As for flying (I will need to learn) would you say that if I were to keep to GPS mode I could fly this thing one handed. I can use my right hand/arm somewhat/sometimes but couldn't rely on that always being the case. Bit of a PITA.

You'd definitely need to keep it in GPS mode to fly one-handed, yeah. It should be possible, I guess you'd use your hand to take off and get to a suitable altitude, and you can then just fly it around using the other stick - the only thing you wouldn't be able to do is change orientation and altitude at the same time, but to be honest that may be for the best anyway as even two-handed pilots can have trouble keeping orientation in check (I did, and I'm still not 100%)If you're going FPV, I'd recommend using a monitor over a set of goggles, as the goggles black out the world around you so it's very easy to get disoriented, which if you're flying one-handed could be the difference between a good flight and a nasty crash.
This is that cable, incidentally.

I'll probably hold off until March when funds/better weather allow. I also want to make extra sure I can do this safely so thanks again for the tips.
ETA.
Just had a thought. Could I buy a different transmitter and swap the sticks around?

The transmitter is configurable if you connect it via USB cable to a computer and install the DJI software, I *think* (not 100% sure) that you can configure what the levers do / swap their function.V8A*ndy said:

Is there a plug and play version as I have little use of my right hand and I'm not going to be able to take things apart, solder ETC.
I bought mine from buzzflyer.co.uk. The Phantom 2 with gimbal and camera is not plug and play straight out of the box, and the gimbal is really fiddly to fit. However, you could buy the Phantom 2 Vision which is a complete self contained Phantom 2 with gimbal and camera.Where did you buy from?

Went for a test flight today. Had to reduce the field of view on the camera as the fisheye distortion looked a bit cack when flying around, but I'm super impressed with the quality and stability. I need to get a lot of flying practice in and work on my smoothness with the controls.

Though I was being ultra careful not to damage anything. Fecking air was blue.
I'll just have to get some help as always FFS.
As posted above a mate got a Vision 2.
Here is a shot from today, at over 1000 feet.
We are going onto the top of a skyscraper one night this week to see just how high we can get the damn thing.
Burj al Arab visible in background, Emirate Golf Club in view which hosts a European Tour event next week.
Apologies for thumbsnap, was grabbed from FB.
Impressive bits of kit.

Nice. My nephew has just got a job out there, I'll have to send him this pic.
Unfortunately we can only legally go up to 400 feet in the UK, but I've seen vids on YouTube where people have got them well up in to the clouds, I think the only technical limitation is the range of your FPV kit
