What are the video settings people are using for general vids? My videos are OK but look over exposed a lot of the time.

Phantom 3 Advanced.

It's quite easy to accidentally change the exposure in the app (been there!) - are you sure you're at 0 ev?

This is all at 0

Looks great. Any filters on the camera?

This is one i did fairly recently. I'll need to check everything is set to 0 and take it from there. Everything just down't look as good as other vids i've seen,

looking at getting a phantom to record a renovation project we're in the middle of.

looking at pricing, i can pick up a secondhand 2 vision + for about £400 but there are also new P3 standard available for £500 (from china)

is teh P3 that much better than the 2? I guess the buying new and warranty is void if buying from china so it really is a direct comparison and questioning if i really need the extra abilities (if any) of the P3

some advice would be cool

Getcarter - watched your video and it seems a bit jerky, is that normal? or just a conversion / youtube thing and it looks fine normaly.

They are a complicated thing - personally I would purchase new from the UK.

Can someone with a Phantom 3 do me a favour?

I'm having stress with DJI doing a repair. If you shut down the motors whilst filming... does the filming continue (I'm 99% sure it does, but can't check as they have my drone).

TIA

Have mine beside me - what exactly do you need sorry? Hit record but then turn off the DJI?!

Mine decided to commit suicide yesterday.

Took off, got to about 30m high and 40 m in front of me and it just fell from the sky.

New camera required frown

begs the question i guess, would a gopro take the impact better in this situation? assuming you didnt have a gopro fitted.

Looking at the DJI forum there's endless threads where these things are falling out the sky. Mainly caused by taking off without fully charging the battery the same day of flying and then getting low battery voltage problems. The 1.5 firmware update seemed to caused never ending issues. I have downgraded mine to 1.4 version as this to me just seemed more reliable. I kept losing satellite signal on the 1.5 version. They have now released a new 1.6 firmware upgrade but once updated to that you can only go back as far as 1.5!

The camera itself is fine. However the Gymbal that's integrated into it has snapped

Mine also fell out of the sky! The flight log says everything went dead. The video stopped recording, motors died and it just fell like a stone. It didn't have a heavy landing as it was soft ground, but it broke the camera mounting (same as phunk). Sent it back to DJI to fix under warranty, but they say I turned motors off mid flight so repair not covered. I didn't... it shows I was ascending when it happened and the video stopped at exactly the same momemt - which proves it was a power failure... which is why I asked the question, and what I will argue.

I think they'll say sod off - but that will piss me off big time.

The only way it *should* possibly be able to fall out the sky is by executing the CSC command (both sticks in bottom corners). Sounds like the common low battery voltage to me..

Agree .. if I'd done CSC, the last three seconds wouldn't have me ascending in the flight log.

...and the camera wouldn't have stopped recording.

did you also send the battery back to DJI - the one that was in at the time? May be worth getting it analysed.

This whole dropping out the sky scares the st out of me if I am honest. Especially when it just "happens" for absolutely no reason what so ever.

The first time I took mine over water - I'll never forget it!

I'm just looking at one of these, how bad is the issue with them stopping dead and crashing? I'd hate to be on the end of an insurance claim if it ended up on somebodies property.

Is there an alternative drone or are the stories of them stopping midair few and far between?
