Likewise - just looked at the comparison site and can't see what the advanced brings over the standard?
Is that a decent price for the standard?
I've also been doing a bit of pre purchase research, and I think the Advanced has the height sensors for when it's indoors, and also the improved controller range of the Pro. It's only the camera that isn't as good.Is that a decent price for the standard?

Anyone had any experience of their Phantom 3 not connecting to the Dji Go app?
App loads fine, get the green lights and 'aircraft connected'. Click on camera to connect it the onboard, it thinks about it, then crashes and returns to my phone home screen.
Delete the app and install again App loads fine, get the green lights and 'aircraft connected'. Click on camera to connect it the onboard, it thinks about it, then crashes and returns to my phone home screen.

So, not flown in over a week and was getting impatient so decided to get the bird out and do some aerial shots above the house.
Started her up using auto-take off and could hear a clicking noise. Brought her back down and it appears two props are bent! They was catching on the frame ever so lightly.
It seems that the LowerPro CS400 backpack I have doesn't actually fully protect the bird with the props on! I'm going to have to start taking the propellors off in future..which means I may aswell chuck the CS400. It's too big anyway - only advantage was you could keep props on! Luckily I have one of the free hardshell backpacks from DJI.

So. Good news.
P3 fell out of the sky, I sent it back... DJI in China looked at the log and said I'd shut down the engines and wanted £575 to repair. I argued the toss with them saying the log proved that it was an electrical issue, and not me being a tt. After much prevarication, China finally decided I was right and have repaired FOC under warranty.
Worth fighting them if you ever have an issue... don't roll over!
WEX were very good through all this.

For those of you on Facebook there's a very active DJI Owners Group where technical issues are discussed in depth.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/dji.owners/?fref=n...
They post plenty of good videos and pictures.
However I do enjoy following one guys videos in particular.
e.g.

and

Best in HD
I don't know if you have to be logged in to Facebook to see them though.

Has everyone seen the new phantom?
http://www.dji.com/product/phantom-4
It's got some pretty impressive new features. The tracking feature looks good and obstacle avoidance.
Looking forward to seeing what the new Inspire is going to be like

I was waiting for it to come out and see what new features it had. But I didn't think it was worth £500 more than a Phantom 3 Advanced, so that's what I've just bought. Not flown it more than a few feet indoors so far.http://www.dji.com/product/phantom-4

Really like watching these. What res and FOV was that shot in? I don't have a 3 and I'm just interested as there is a lot of prop in the video perhaps it was windy?
Here's a Phantom 2 and gopro, color graded in resolve.

Thought as much. Copes with the wind well though.
Doesn't it! Have come through the Micro FPV route, so the Phantom 3 is a revelation in stability and ease of flying. I do like the low and fast shots though.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN1WYzq2jiQ
In contrast... slow! 4k knocked down to 720. Looks amazing in 4k
