I know last year we had 'light' but we need to keep the competition broad or we don't get enough entries!

So what I mean by 'best light' is I want to see the photo from your portfolio which you consider to have the best light. That could be golden hour on a landscape, studio lighting on a model or something completely different.

Rules

The photos taken must be your own work
The competition will run from the first to the last day of the month.
The winner from the previous month decides on the topic for following month and judges it at the end of the month
There will be two threads that need starting: The Entries thread to commence same time as Discussion thread. In the Entries thread only one picture should be entered. Any others you wish to discuss should be posted in the Discussion thread.
All entrants acknowledge that they may indeed win and that their adherence to convention ensures everyone else's continued fun.
Photos entered should be no bigger than 750 pixels wide for a landscape photo and 600 pixels high for a portrait photo due to the PH squash factor. Links to larger versions are permissible.

I've always liked the light/shadows on this one. And reminded me I need to add a load of pics to my site too.

Ze results!

3rd: I love harsh shadows from golden hours and it works particularly well with street photography. Nice shot, Mike.

4Lmike said:
2nd: First and second were tight for me. I love this shot's serenity and dusk (I presume, possibly pre-dawn) lighting. Everything is nice and soft and I think although the foreground is dark, it works.

1st: This wins because A) it is a stunning shot B) I know Mark hasn't falsified those rays C) these types of shots are very rare and take dedication to landscape to be in the right place at the right times, as opposed to luck as some would have you believe.

Thanks Robbie, and well done everyone, some cracking work once again.

I'll have a think and will come up with a new competition.

I didn't, I've not got any of the Lee special effects filters, just grads.

On that one I used a Hitech 3 stop reverse ND grad to hold back that mad bright stripe.
