Not quite the Scottish Lochs or the starry skies of New Zealand, but this is my take on Felixstowe.

So I was working in the garden today and I spotted an insect I'd never seen before. I thought it was a bee at first but it had some gargantuan spike coming out of its face. I grabbed my gear and tried to photograph it and that was at 12:00ish this afternoon. Several hours, 1 freshly charged 5D battery, my flash gun's batteries and the health of the small of my back later and I got the shot I wanted. Google says it's a Bombyliidae or a "Beefly". Right, I'm off to nurse my spine and charge all my camera gear .
I was told it was a Hummingbird Moth. All I know is, I haven't seen one in my garden before. leggly said:

I wonder what the neighbours think of you
The thing is Tim, my garden is overlooked by at least 5 houses and there's zero chance they can see a beefly from which ever vantage point they have. So they see a guy in his mid twenties, in shorts and shirtless, with a fking massive camera and flash guns, crouched and waddling around a very small patch of grass for hours, stopping occasionally to fire the flash at, for all intents and purposes, nothing.jimmy156 said:

No one knocked on the door yet?Either the neighbours were all out, they don't care because you are not as strange as they are or you are now subject to long term covert surveillance by a tendon (or whatever they are called) of the Savile Investigation Grand Committee. SIGC for short.
Have you considered moving? Or even emigrating?#
How would Mars appeal?
