So jealous of the air to air Vulcan shots. Lovely stuff smile

Back down on land I went up to Scotland at the weekend with a bunch of fellow old car owners and left the camera outside whilst I went to bed in our garden shed.

They are awesome for single frame astro.

Sharp and well corrected , flare like mad if you have indirect light source but all the type do
Single frame astro is pretty much what it shall be doing 99% of the time , Had a play with my 24-70 2.8 last night but really yearned for something wider - Cheers Rob
I bought a Samyang 14mm and it was absolutely brilliant for single frame astro as Rob said. I made the mistake of thinking I could find a way of using it for landscapes but you can't get filters on the front and I ended up sending it back. It's a really great lens for the money and also, you don't have to fart around with 'to infinity and then back a bit' as it's manual focus.

Samyang europe do a filter kit for sensible money now.

But if you are an exposure blending kind of guy (lots are now) then its all good anyhow.

All of those Vulcan images are very nice indeed smile

May I ask, what aircraft were you in at the time? I couldn't see anything about it but I might have missed it...

I've really slowed down with photography lately; life has got busier and as much as I look at photographs I don't take many any more. So my new resolution is to take my camera every where I go (out of the normal routine) and take at least 1 image.

I feel for you.

Bright sunshine! The last thing you need for decent wedding style shots and skin tones. SO MUCH contrast to deal with ... those horribly contrived looking blue skies ... everyone squinting as they are blinded by the light ....

Hopefully you'll have Better luck tomorrow Baz. Maybe a good strong wind to get a veil blowing (best to weight the hem of your kilt) and some rain to act as an excuse to deploy some umbrellas to help diffuse any stray sunlight.

wink

Morning all, new here. Some great pics, finding inspiration to move me on.

First one from me, 'Hopper' at last weekend's BSB at Cadwell. Just bought a prime 50mm, primarily for portraits, but wanted to try out panning with it. Thinking of going just prime at the Revival to force me to look at things differently. Too many years of the same old stuff now.
