Yeah I think you've got the hang of it Chris. heheclap

One suggestion I would make is to separate the sky from the foreground in two separate layers so you can use noise control on the bottom half without it affecting the number of stars visible.

That place is always better (photographically) in bad weather. The Sun is never in the right place!

Even better with snow:

Yeah i tried another shot at F11 using a torch to illuminate the pier but the wind was a nightmare - i was holding my tripod down most of the time .

Pride of Doncaster-1.jpg by christopha 200, on Flickr

A very peaceful late autumn afternoon, and this fella and I were both enjoying the beautiful light.

Long Shadows at Harwood Dale by mark_mullen, on Flickr

I've got an unexpected trip to Glencoe coming up, I'm helping to set up a rescue boat in York after a series of deaths in the rivers this year, I've been doing the RYA Powerboat courses at Port Edgar near DD's bridges but they couldn't fit me in this time, so I'm doing the next one at Ballachulish. Needless to say I'll be taking some kit with me and getting out to do a bit whilst up there.

If you can find someone else to do the safety cox stuff, do - it's much more interesting being the driver smile

Joking aside, it sounds like a very worthwhile cause.

I've popped home for a few days so decided to go an old favourite walk. It appears I have missed the heather season so I tried to make up for the lack of colour with the garish gorse bush.

Not my finest picture but I thought I'd share it anyway. Feed back is always useful.
