That almost makes the 6D superfluous now surely? wink

Hmm - that had occurred to me! Quality wise I can't tell any difference for 'normal' stuff like the above but the crop factor would mean my lenses were not quite covering the the right focal lengths which is probably the main thing. Not sure if my 24-105 has a future now though as I may get a 15-85 for the 100D which would take care of 'walkabout' stuff. And yes I have had one of them before biggrin

Some ok shots that Im happy with considering there was little to no actual daylight.

Sun set here is 12:30-12:45, these were taken after 15:00.

(please excuse they are jpg, the raw files are too large and have not been cleaned up yet)

Scandinavia north of the Arctic Circle perchance? Love it at those latitudes during the winter, although haven't been for some years.

Correct, currently hiding out in Saariselkä in the pictured villa enjoying the northern lights and minus 23 temperatures.

East Leake Winter-15 by Alex_Mason, on Flickr

Yesterdays sunset was astonishing, was hoping for more of the same today but it wasn't quite there. Still got some pictures I liked. I was moved on before it fully set by a bunch of old blokes in a rickety pick up, claiming the land was private...owned by the Baron Belper apparently! No one bothered to put any signs up mind.

Anyway, if he'd have said they were conducting a shoot from the very field I was stood in, I would have moved a bit faster! You can see them in the bottom of the image standing at the foot of the woods. I heard shotgun shots the whole time, be presumed they were a bit further away than that!

None of the Ratcliffe-on-Soar Power Station?

How did you manage to avoid getting it in the shots?

At that position it's to my right and obscured by trees as well. All you can see is the steam from the towers which were forming clouds above my head. Behind me some one is building a lovely house with those very views. Bastids!

Wondering where you were taking those.

The development at the top of the hill to the south of the village should have some interesting views but I would imagine they will also get interesting winds. And, presumably, no sensible parking spaces it being something related to modern planning permission.
