After looking at some paintings I recently and wishing I could paint, I decided to give this idea a go. I intend to print it on a heavy textured paper. Any thoughts appreciated.

Looks great to me, nice and simplistic!
Just been looking through my hard drive and found this one; didn't know at the time he was building one of his own, but brought his dad round to look at some of our Spitfires. First 'personality' I've been nervous about meeting because he seems like such a top bloke on TV and I would have been a bit gutted if he wasn't in reality. Had about thirty seconds to grab a test shot with three flashes (not on stands) and then to take this one.

Not dissimilar, this is Straight Out Of Camera on a lowly Fuji XF1, the effect is caused by panning the camera upwards whilst taking the photo. After looking at some paintings I recently and wishing I could paint, I decided to give this idea a go. Busy couple of days, down at Culdrose last week, Brands Hatch the weekend and the Elan Valley today. Will have to go back down to Culdrose in the summer as my flight got canned.
Hope they're of some interest..
I was actually visiting 849 NAS but they weren't flying much, luckily they share the line with 771.

A nice mixed set Lloyd. Shame about the flight but then a Summer trip sounds OK ...Busy couple of days, down at Culdrose last week, Brands Hatch the weekend and the Elan Valley today. Will have to go back down to Culdrose in the summer as my flight got canned.

A couple of pics from my trip up Kilimanjaro last week. Unfortunately most need a LOT of post processing. There just isn't the desire (or ability) to worry about most things when at 3500m or 4600m!

Bruges you say ...
Are you sure that's not some sort of fantasy CGI stuff you produce in your sleep in the middle of the night?
I can't think of any other reason for the "overlooked" excuse.

I don't know what happened. I really liked it in camera but it didn't sit right with me when I tried to edit it. I often bin images and then come back months later and rescue them!

I rather like the result - though of course your White Balances are all wrong from a purist point of view ....

A personal opinion only - it's not terrible, it's not great. It looks like it was a lovely sunrise but whatever camera you're using it didn't really do it justice, but with some small composition changes it could have been a bit better. From a photography perspective, you've done the traditional 'putting the horizon in the middle' that so many people do. The sunrise is really the focus of that shot, so personally I'd have changed perspective and composed the shot with the horizon 1/3 of the way up (so 2/3 of the scene is the sky.)
I'd also try and avoid having vertical objects crossing that horizon where possible (the telescope/binoculars thing.)
If you're interested look up the rule of thirds, it's only a set of guidelines to use and it can be broken - but it's a good place to start.
HTH.
