Did you use the Gigapan for this one (well, forty!) or the manual tripod mount?
Cant use the gigapan with my sony dont have the right cable.

Did think about using the TB3 but not comfortable with the setup of that yet.

So I used the manual pano head...
Thanks for the reply. You must be pretty quick with the manual head to manage this before the light changed too much!

Not really! The aurora was quite static, and I could get it in a single row and into only 4ish frames which were the key frames for that. I shot that area twice ( on 2 rows) and picked the best of them to mask in (pt hui masking is ace).

40 frames at 25seconds each meant a lot of time shooting though, given the MW was right above my head this usually makes stitching it tricky but it came out surprisingly well , had to warp the top a little in photoshop which is typical this time of year

Tonight's effort - didn't have enough time for star trails and light painting etc but will go back another time for sure smile

Cheers for the feedback - I do normally shoot these a bit cooler but not this one for some reason smile

mixed bag of recent ones from my K3, been having fun trying some old manual lenses
to see how they perform.

I got pretty lucky with this one with our winged visitor in the right of the shot.

From 'The Wedge' in Newport Beach, CA.

I actually took my camera out with me this week. There was a time where I would post on this and 2 other photography threads nearly every week. Now I just admire everyone else's work! frown

It's not much, but I wandered around Windsor Castle on a bloody nice day.
