Reflections.

Any comments or suggestions to improve would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Not so mucgh on composition, but this took 10 seconds in post processing. Cameras tend to 'fade' landscapes. So I added highlight and shadow, then colour balanced to 'warm' it up.

I kept thinking car boot and jumble sale too! The kind of stuff grans have in abundance on mantle pieces.
I must admit to being tempted to a small piece by Luke Jerram (http://www.lukejerram.com/glass/) but fortunately the cost last time was a bit too much. Otherwise Lino Tagliapietra makes some amazing glass (http://linotagliapietra.com/artist/biography/). A much as I'd love one piece of his art they are so far out of my league price-wise it's not funny. Must earn more...

Cheers! Busy few years in the old personal life (but who hasn't?!) means ive dedicated my posting of images to only twitter. Only shoot film now so slowed down everything, in a good way - however want to start posting here a bit more.

It's where it all started for me! smile

Film only eh? That explains the square format perhaps?

All funded by a couple of lottery wins to cover the processing costs I suppose? wink

Haha, thanks all smile

Costwise, still much cheaper than decent DSLR and prime setup - and image quality is better. I only shoot about 3 rolls a month tbh so costs have been better than expected.

All work is on here:

Fascinating... Though there are a couple of guys in one of the distant stands and you can't, quite, see the whites of their eyes!

Have you seen the one of a mural in Minneapolis on their site? You can easily read the number plates of cars in the far distance at the edge of the frame and clearly make out the heat haze!

To be quite honest I was, I think, zoomed in to the max and was not that impressed in absolute sharpness terms but I did not try to discover what was used to shoot it. Maybe I missed some depth somewhere.

Some of the stuff that was around when the whole Gigapan thing kicked off was extraordinary in terms of detail and I assume things will have moved on since then.

And then there are the Medium Format exponents .....

Some technical stuff........

Wow. Thanks Mr C. However, you lost me.... All I ever do "post processing" is level horizons. I have no clue about the other stuff. I only have basic Photoshop elements on my laptop, but sadly not a scooby doo on how it works !!! getmecoat

It is 4 shots on a D810, 24-70 f2.8 at 24mm and f8, so the softest setting, a wideish angle and a little diffraction limited, so never going to win any awards for sharpness. I was in full tourist mode as well, shot handheld, no tripod. Just a bit of fun to see how much I could capture in a few seconds.

Well in that case you are excused! wink

I thought the gigapan site was supposed to reject anything that had not started out as hundreds of files and at least a Tb of data before being compressed on multiple levels for web usage.

That's a good location to get the clouds too. I think they really add to the impression of the place.

Did you get down to the end of the harbour wall for some shots back into the town across the harbour? Good for capturing the town. Less good for showing the circuit passing through the car park!
