+1

Murano looks almost like a working photo studio set where one might be expected to contribute to the preparation and running costs by depositing a payment for each shot taken.

Your 24-105 is working well with the 6D and your use of the light.

Love, love, love this. The colour, the perspective, the detail, nothing out of place.

Fascinating... Though there are a couple of guys in one of the distant stands and you can't, quite, see the whites of their eyes!

Have you seen the one of a mural in Minneapolis on their site? You can easily read the number plates of cars in the far distance at the edge of the frame and clearly make out the heat haze!
To be quite honest I was, I think, zoomed in to the max and was not that impressed in absolute sharpness terms but I did not try to discover what was used to shoot it. Maybe I missed some depth somewhere.

Some of the stuff that was around when the whole Gigapan thing kicked off was extraordinary in terms of detail and I assume things will have moved on since then.

And then there are the Medium Format exponents .....

It is 4 shots on a D810, 24-70 f2.8 at 24mm and f8, so the softest setting, a wideish angle and a little diffraction limited, so never going to win any awards for sharpness. I was in full tourist mode as well, shot handheld, no tripod. Just a bit of fun to see how much I could capture in a few seconds.
I was only joking btw. Not criticising at all, more irony than a carp.

Cheers - yes quite an amazing place (Burano, not Murano - my mistake). The 24-105 I think is great, hardly had it off the camera smile

I was in Cologne for a few days last week. Fab place, but the stormy weather certainly kept me on my toes, so much so I lost my mobile phone whilst running for cover one evening.
