Perched high above the crashing ocean huge cliffs drop off to either side , balanced on a knife edge , tripod locked only marginally in place I waited the dawn of a new day.

Nugget point is a spectacular place to visit, in some ways an easy place to shoot, but in others not so!

You dont get many chances to shoot such a location with great light and a long exposure like this!

All of those are quite ridiculous DD, especially the second one with it's fascinating light effects.

Still, going to places that are set up as photogenic tourist traps is a bit of a "cheat" really. wink

Have you considered where to visit next for a photographic challenge?

How about Shorpe? Or Coalville?

Thanks LQ smile Yes that second one came out a treat with the reflections on the bottom of the bridge. I do take your point - going to be hard to keep the standard up now i'm back to normality!

Normality?

How the heck did you find that? .... whatever it is.

Sighs. I thought that gap was bridgeable.

North coast of the Forth dear boy. That's your closest challenge. Some very scenic places there in the right light and conditions - but some challenges too. Places that should just leap from the lens ... but maybe don't. At least not every time.

The side benefit is that if the photo trip fails there are some great food outlets available to round out the day (so I am told .. it was certainly true last time I was up there which was a while ago, sadly).

Been there and done that (a couple of times in the case of the F&C) and very good it was too. thumbup

Have you been to the Pittenweem Arts thing that is organised locally every summer? A pleasant day out with the Fish and Chip supper excuse to go alongside.

Hurry up though - all the fish are going to disappear (allegedly) due to due to people like Sam Branson flying eveywhere by helipcopter.

I really don't care for cityscape/architectural photo's, but that's a really striking image and one that's been perfectly captured.

Cheers - it would have been tough to go wrong to be honest, an amazingly photogenic place smile

Pah! What do people on the telly know?

The Arts festival has some photographic content.

Purely by chance I stumbled across this

http://www.pittenweemartsfestival.co.uk/artists_ex...

Not photography but an example painting of a scene in Venice. Seemed like a good enough link.

Obviously shortening the link will get to the festival's home page.
