Umhlanga Sunrise by mark_mullen, on Flickr
I've not had much time to myself to go out with the cameras recently, I've been helping set up a new charity which is taking up all my "free" time and this is our busiest time of year at work so a week in Durban was a gift, especially when my girlfriend was working some of the week leaving just me and my cameras, it was really good to get out and do some.

That really is a brilliant photo!Trackdemon, Mark, awesome!
Updated to the latest Lightroom, I dont normally use this (outside of timelapse) but now it can stitch panos and has GPU acceleration and the new erase brush for grads I thought I would give it a go.
Found some untouched files, 2 rows of 12, stitched OK but took a VERY long time, 990meg dng file created. So slow , so few options.
Then adding 2 grads and trying to use the erase brush was near impossible. I am talking huge input lag, black and white outs lasting seconds, a nightmare, I done a botched job just to try finish it off, 2 hours work should have been 20min in pt gui/PS.

Does anyone remember, or had used Live Picture - the program Joseph Holmes helped develop, including a fantastic book about it and its use for images of the Grand Canyon - back in the day when computers and Photoshop were treacle-slow?
You could do all the filters, masks, graduations etc.etc. pretty much in real time, layer by layer, then when happy with the image leave it do do the final build. That could take from minutes to hours for a big file, but as long as you didn't have lots of pictures to do at the same time/next and could grand do something else, like sleep, it was pretty handy.
Oh, a lovely picture btw!
