DD love the boat(s) shot!

Back from the UK and almost out from under a ton of things to do, whilst over there met up with Paul Bullen for a cool trip up to the Lakes..

One from me last night. Took loads and need to have a look through when I get the chance to see which are worth playing around with.

Love the way that the wall leads you down into the picture.

Annoyed with myself, one of the first chances I've had to get out for some sunset photography (and a play with my new Lee grads) and I kept ignoring the meter as even with grads the sky looked blown in screen. It wasn't, I should have trusted the camera.

One of the few that came out exposed properly:

Love the colours in that - did you do anything special to give it so much 'pop'?

One from me.. really pleased with this one using a SAMYANG 14mm. Just a shame theres a slight shadow in the bottom left where my girlfriend must have popped into frame for a second or so without me noticing..

liking the composition on the 2nd one - just needs a bit of processing to make it less flat looking

No.3 is nice as well, again a little PS could help to make it 'pop'

Yeah, kitchen sink processing. General levels/curves , orton, but of dodging and burning, adjusting local colour etc. Its somewhat over processed but you have to do that sometimes biggrin

Left is raw defaults, mid is raw once into photoshop ( levels, contrast, WB and vibrance etc) right is finished

Do you - or anyone else here - use any of the Topaz filters for PS? I've read good things about Detail and the BW conversion one on the B&W forum run by Keith Cooper so downloaded them and have watched a couple of their YouTube tutorials so hope it works well.

Many thanks for this. I'll have a play around with PS later if I get the chance and see what can be done. I've edited them all a little already but not massive amounts.

May be over the top but...what do you think?

I have increased contrast, saturation, vibrance, sharpness. I added an orange radial filter as an additional layer of soft light over the sun to increase the orange a little....I also added 2 more gradient filter layers (one black with around 50% opacity to darken the sky a touch, and the other orange to bring the sky a bit brighter...also around 50% opacity)
