Great portrait!
One of my first snaps from my new 24-70 during a break to Munich – home to the most ridiculous autumn colours (barely touched here to make them match what I saw).

ETA: One more quick and dirty one… (get the original huge version from Flickr to see why I'm loving this lens)

Can't beat the scenery around Neuschwanstein, nice shot from the castle One from sunrise at Trillium Lake, Oregon (one of Oregon's most "shot" location shots)

Shooting from the hip in Hong Kong.
I'm not one who feels that comfortable taking photos of strangers so I put the wide angle lens on, fast shutter speed and continuous silent drive on the 5DIII and snapped away while walking around with the camera held facing out as though I was just carrying it. As expected there were a lot of misses but some I'm quite pleased with. All straightened and cropped in LR.

I bought mine last week and took it out to Wales and then the Peak yesterday. Can't believe how sharp it is even at wide f stops. The detail in the background is astonishing, clear details on buildings barely visible within the overall scene until zoomed in. I think the camera/lens combination now matches or exceeds the previous 5"x4" transparency film I used to use. On top of that I'd have needed to pay lots for high quality scanning. How things have moved on...One of my first snaps from my new 24-70 during a break to Munich – home to the most ridiculous autumn colours (barely touched here to make them match what I saw).
