A few random shots from this year's HotRod Hayride, using my trusty Leica and a bunch of cheap film from Poundland that was out of date!....

cool pics
These work well for me. Your framing reminds me a bit of how (PHer) Nick Grant captures the scene.

I have friends who love the Poundland film. Who did the developing and at what point did you add the toning- surely that's not simply from the expired film?
Thanks for the kind words! Interestingly enough, Nick Grant is one of my inspirations when shooting these kind of events, so I may have shamelessly "stolen" a few of his composition techniques! This was my 3rd Hot Rod Hayride, and I'm pleased with the way these photos have turned out, but I'm still learning.

The processing was done by Peak Imaging, and I scanned the negatives in using my Plustek scanner. The scanning software I use has presets for different brands of film and to be honest the Agfa preset was a little too bright, so I used a preset from a Kodak film which worked well for the look & feel I was after. The Agfa film does come out slightly vintage/retro but I suspect the combination of lens and out of date film gave me the overall tone.
Just caught this smile Happy to be an inspiration. Nice work smile I've been on a bit of a gap from photography but just getting back into it again. Shot some film myself down at Pendine this year, this has reminded me to get it developed!

Got myself a Fuji XT10 at the weekend. I wanted something more compact than the D700 to carry around. The local Camera shop had a Fuji weekend with a good discount on an already discounted price. Just waiting for the Samyang 12mm f2 that I 'accidentally' pressed buy it now on to turn up nowbiggrin

Rob,

Scenic place isn't it!

On my screen the images are extremely yellow - less so when I go to your Flickr stream but I think that is mainly due to different compression.

Is the yellow an intentional style?

I'm assuming that they will appear the same way to others but if not I need to know so I can check at my end.

3 looks about right to my eyes.

5 is close as well and I could understand the last one for the effect. But the others just look a bit OTT.

I've seen similar effects with some of my Canon files when compressing some shades of green - seems to drop the blue and leave the yellow in some situations - bright relatively low sun for example.
