Here's a comparison with the original shot.

When I upped the dehaze, it brought the purple out in the sky.
Drop the Vibrance way down, that's what's causing the "unnatural" feel to the image. Also I would press the reset button on that one and start again with a fresh approach. Avoid "Auto" tone and manually adjust instead, try and aim for a more realistic take on the shot with neutral tones, less colour and a more balanced contrast. Also I would be tempted to crop out much of the foreground, it's dead space and the fact it's in shadow makes it a little distracting.

I'm not sure I would crop the foreground although "treating" the shadow might be an option.

I think part of the key to capturing Chatsworth at its best is the space and the setting in the landscape.

A fairly low sun angle in the afternoon or evening is likely to make the best of it so late summer and early autumn are ideal when the weather allows. But then you will get shadows and they become part of the scene adding to it rather than detracting.

IMO.
Thanks a lot for you thoughts, it really helps to hear other peoples views, otherwise I wouldn't know where I was going wrong.

This was taken nearly 2yrs ago, I loved the setting Autumn sunlight.

Not planned, just an opportune shot with 3 cats together and a few seconds to make the best of the composition and a quick guess at the settings for a hand held picture.

Nice work.

You certainly prise some excellent results from the EOS M.

Is the foreground object a sunken boat? Looks like the prow of some sort of river oriented day boat but some how the orientation does not quite stack up to look like a hull.

That makes no difference ot the success of the image - I'm just curious about it.

Cheers LongQ wink Yeah, I continue to be pleasantly surprised with the little M.
Yes, it is a sunken boat but it has some junk piled on the front of it so it looks a bit odd.

Got the 27mm f2.8 pancacke lens for the X-T10. Makes it almost pocketable.

There are a few beauties in there. What a great trip that must've been.

I'll do a proper thread when I've finished the editing but suffice to say

1) it's incredibly beautiful in its wildness and ruggedness, and
2) I'm staggered with the quality from my little Fuji X-E2 (I'd lent the XT1 to Mrs CVP)

Got out with the camera for the first time in a while the other week:

Unfortunately didn't get a great sky in the morning (was lovely and blue in the afternoon). Hopefully the content makes up for it smile

Any feedback welcome.
