Thanks for that link smile
Perfect for a complete novice who wants to understand and improve!
Here's a couple of my efforts from a recent road trip to Norway
I love the shots but can't help feeling they could be better!

I'm no expert, but with the lovely reflections, the light, and the background for my taste I think it would have been better if the reeds in the foreground were out of shot. They block what is for me the best part.

And I think they make it even more interesting FWIW smile

Wait until you try to move everything to a backup drive and you lose all your edits yikes

Another from my recent trip north taken with the Sony RX10iii - interesting as I was shooting pretty much into the light and the sky was very much blown in the jpeg but as you can see there was plenty to recover in the RAW. Great amount of DR available smile

A few from winkworth arboretum today, light was a bit dull unfortunately but the colours of some of the trees are stunning!

I love that place.

This shot of the boathouse reminds me of when my son was a lot younger. We were picnicking near the lake, and he was being his usual disobedient, too clever for his own good self. We told him to step back from the edge of the lake, as it had been visibly undercut by the water. His reply to his mum's warning that he'd fall in if he didn't do as he was told was "No I WON'T!" Within seconds, he'd fallen in. Stood with his back to the lake, arms folded, chin on chest, face like a slapped arse, sulking at us, then the undercut bank just fell away, with him stood on it.

Other parents in the vicinity were visibly shocked when, instead of pulling him out, I stood and laughed at him for a while. He was, after all, only up to his waist in water, and anchored to the bottom by the water in his wellies. No danger of him drowning when I had hold of his arms.
